Quadra Island, in the province of British Columbia, Canada, is situated on the 50th parallel, where the wide southern ocean straits narrow between Vancouver Island and the BC mainland. This ensures a richness of marine life, from whales and dolphins to seals and otters. Quadra Island is surrounded by 360 degrees of stunning natural beauty of ocean, islands, and mountains. There are three main villages on Quadra Island: Cape Mudge (home to the We Wai Kai band), Quathiaski Cove (where the ferry lands from Campbell River), and Heriot Bay Village (10 minutes north, where the ferry departs for Cortes Island). Most of the population lives in the bottom third of Quadra Island. In the north, you'll find hiking trails, lakes, and forests.
