About Quadra Island
When visitors say “You live in Paradise”, we have to agree.
This is the kind of place where people smile and say “Hello”, even if they don’t know you. If someone needs help, they get it. Relax, slow down, and join us!
We’re on the 50th parallel, between Campbell River on Vancouver Island, and the BC mainland, surrounded by 360 degrees of ocean, islands, and mountains. This setting ensures spectacular scenery and rich and abundant wildlife on land and sea. People live on acreages or in the villages on Quadra Island: Cape Mudge (home to the We Wai Kai band), Quathiaski Cove (where the ferry lands from Campbell River), and Heriot Bay (where another ferry departs for Cortes Island).
Besides the friendly people, slower pace, the feeling of peace and safety, folks enjoy the clean environment and spectacular scenery. We’re fortunate to have several provincial parks on Quadra, including our beloved Rebecca Spit. Visit Cape Mudge Lighthouse, the only lighthouse in BC that is accessible by road! On summer Saturdays, visit the lively Farmer’s Market. Add beachcombing, swimming, picnicking, biking, hiking, paddling, yoga, and enjoying the arts: you’ll run out of time before you run out of things to enjoy!
