Visitors are surprised at how quiet Quadra Island hiking trails can be; sometimes, you won't meet anyone else on your whole hike! That's partly because there are so many hikes to choose from.

Enjoy a sunrise or sunset stroll on Rebecca Spit, a level, easy-access hike. Kay du Bois Trail and the Cape Mudge trail are other water-front hikes For panoramic views, hike Heriot Ridge or the Chinese Mountains To hike and swim, head for Morte Lake, Newton Lake and Village Bay Lake Oceanfront hikes include Shellalligan Pass, Surge Narrows, and Maude Island

- A number of hiking trails are within woodlot boundaries, so be sure to obey any signs posted during times of harvesting.
- Drive carefully on access roads; logging trucks have right of way.
- Stay on the marked paths.
- Pack out what you pack in.
- Please keep your dogs under control; we share these forests with wildlife including deer, cougar and wolves.
- The Fire Hazard on the island during the summer months is high; be sure cigarettes are fully extinguished; do not make campfires.
- Be sure to take the basics: water, layered clothing, shoes with good support, and of course, your Quadra Island Hiking Trails map!
